Provide a short description of the Position: The agency is seeking one Software Architect for analysis, development, and testing of the DMV VSAM to DB2 transformation initiative.

Provide a list of the day to day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: The qualified candidate will analyze, design/functional specifications, code (COBOL), test and implement VSAM to DB2 transformations which adhere to IT standards and policies.
Duties will include:
Migrating source code to appropriate repositories
Participation in requirement gathering and design discussions
Verbal communication with senior IT SMEs to elicit requirements
Responsibility for coding software requirements from design specifications.
Working in a team environment, as well as independently.
Complying with data standards and policies.
Learning new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value.
Assisting with Quality Assurance testing.

60 months of business analysis and software design experience including preparing functional specifications, documenting workflow processes in modeling tools such as Visio
60 months testing experience including developing test cases, creating comprehensive test plans, executing test plans, validating testing at both the data and system level
72 months of experience with COBOL/CICS/z/OS/DB2/JCL/VSAM/Spufi/IBM utilities
48 months of experience with Intertest
48 months of experience with Endevor

Kolezanki i Koledzy,

Musze  to napisac Wam. Jak wiecie Silicon Valley Bank padl (scislej mowiac zostal przejety po nieudolnym prowadzeniu w tym przez bylego szefa finansowego z Lehman Brothers sprzed jego upadku w 2008).

To pociagnelo za soba domino bankow. Pisze sie – nieprawidwlowo zreszta – ze padl tez bank gdzie jestem konsultantem czyli Signature Bank. Nie jest to prawda. CTO mnie wtajemniczyl w to co sie stalo przez weekend. Bylo duzo zamieszania. Bank zostal przezornie zamkniety tymczasowo by zmienic „entity” i rozwiazac problem z jedna dziedzina ktora zaczela sie od SVB.. Chodzi mianowicie o „cryptocurrencies”. Federalni daja wszystkim bankom sygnal, ze kazdy z nich bedzie ryzykiem dla rynku jesli bedzie silnie zalezny od biznesu crypto. To sie wlasnie stalo w Signature Bank, ktory od dzisiaj sie nazywa inaczej i ma inny zarzad narzucony przez FDIC (Greg Michael jest CEO od dzisiaj). Zreszta SVB takze i maja CEO, ktory byl CEO Fanny Mae jesli ktos wie co to jest i co za tym stoi.

Prawda jest taka, ze Signature Bank to klienci z Kongresu Amerykanskiego wlaczajac w to bylego senatora w zarzadzie banku. Nikt nie pozwoli by taki bank padl i narazil reputacje wielu ludzi i rynku.

Natomiast stanowczo odradzam ryzyka podejmowania pracy przy crypto. Ja na szczescie nie taka tu mam (jak na razie, bo nie wiadomo jak dlugo te prace bede mial). W obecnych czasach kiedy rzad nie moze kontrolowac crypto i kiedy panuje zamet na swiecie (wojna Rosji z Ukraina, handel bronia i energia, wykup ziem rolnych w Stanach przez Chiny, zagrozenie wokol Tajwanu i inne) platnosci bez kontroli rzadowej nie moga miec miejsca. Dlatego crypto bedzie powoli zamykane przynajmniej w Stanach i przynajmniej na to wyglada.

Skoro Roman polecał Leca, to ja polecam inną książeczkę (jest dostępna w formie e-book, co prawda pewnie do kupienia za Zł):

B.Brożek, M. Heller, J.Stelmach – „Szkice z filozofii głupoty”.

Proszę się nie sugerować słowem „filozofii” w tytule (podobnie jak u Leca „nieuczesane”), bo choć zatrąca o filozofię, ale na poziomie szkoły średniej.

I ja ogromnie żałuję, że Adama nie ma wśród nas (Jego syn mieszka w San Diego), bo pewnie Jego ucieszyła by ta książeczka.
